Dear Mr Roger,
I must immediately apologize for a lost book, which I am afraid, was my fault. I am very sorry if the news will affect your quiet work.
On Sunday I was camping with my friend by the lake. We were boating and then he wanted me to read that book. Our boat hit the stone and cracked. It has drowned with a book. We escaped, but a book could not bbe restored, so I feel responsibility to apologize for that.
I have known the book’s price, and will, of course, pay to have other book bought as soon as possible. Please let me know when it would be convenient for me to discuss this with you.
With my apologies once again. The news must have been very unpleasant but I assure you that I will do everything I can to make amends for the worry I have caused to you.
Yours sincerely, <
