To start with, coloured eggs, marshmallow chicks and chocolate bunnies, all extraordinary decorations and so on – plays very important part in Easter. Easter is a time to welcome back tulips, crocuses and other beautiful flowers. Because of these reasons this holiday is the most beautiful in spring. This year Easter will be celebrated on Sunday March 27, 2005

Easter is the time for holidays, festivals and a time for giving chocolate Easter eggs. But we have to know, tthat Easter means much more. It is the oldest and the most important Christian Festival, the celebration of the death and coming to life again of Jesus Christ.

Next, I’d like to say some things about Easter symbol – egg. Of all symbols associated with this holiday egg, the symbol of fertility and new life is the most identifiable. It is very popular to paint eggs in bright colours, because it represents the sunlight and blue sky of spring. There aare a lot of ways how to paint eggs and there are a lot of materials for instance wax, calorific stickers, onions shells, flowers and so on. In the world there are a lot of different countries with different eggs ppainting traditions, for example Armenians would decorate hollow eggs with pictures of Christ, the Virgin Mary

Another point is eggs rolling the funniest game in the Easter morning. It is very popular between little children. You have to have a basket full of eggs because during this game eggs will break and last thing you have to have is trough. Rules of the game are very simple, you have to roll one egg, and then the same should do another player. The egg that stays untracked

the longest wins.

Some words how I and my family are preparing for this day, and how we are celebrating it. Firstly, everyone from my family tries to dye the eggs with colours, which tthey like most. Secondly, all my family go to church, and after that we go to our grandparents to have Easter dinner. As you know we have to smash up eggs, because it’s like an Easter tradition and then everybody starts to play the funniest game, as I mentioned before. That’s all about my Easter celebrations.

In conclusion I want to say that Easter is not only families’ banner day, but also the celebration of the death and coming to llife again of Jesus Christ. To my mind Easter is the most beautiful day, because we are celebrating it in spring, when everything is started to vegetate.
